DAR is one of those organizations that everyone knows, but may not know much about. For example, you may be surprised to find out that during the three-year term of past President General Lynn Young, DAR members spent 12.5 million hours in volunteer service to their communities. Anyway you look at it, that’s a lot of volunteering. For the September/October 2015 issue of the magazine, I wrote a feature illustrating the vibrancy of today’s DAR through this 12.5 million hour challenge.
